A café in Aix‑en‑Provence. Rue d’Italie can boast of being the oldest street in the city (and one of the oldest urban streets in France). It was in fact the first access road created as an extension of the Aurelian Way, during the founding of the Aquae Sextiae colony by the Roman consul Sextius Calvinus in the 2nd century BC.
