Robert Tys
Born in Poland, fascinated by colors and light from an early age, he was absorbed in drawing comics. He gained education and life experience both in his home country and abroad. Both graphic design and painting are reflected in his past and current work. His particular passion became painting abstract oil paintings on large canvas formats.
A sunny artist from the south
The special light, colors, beautiful nature, and architecture of the Mediterranean basin became his daily inspiration for creating his paintings. He mixes them in his own way, turning them into his own unique mixture.
Artist Papers
There are some things which fortunately never change. One of them is the desire to create, with one’s own hands, unique works of art; the desire for creative development without excessive technical preparations – using simple chalk, charcoal or brush. Hahnemühle makes unique papers for unique works of art. Since 1584 we have been producing paper of unparalleled quality for artistic and graphic use. Nor will this change: the attachment to tradition and drawing on the paper-making art, which has made Hahnemühle one of the leading European paper producers.
That is why in our production we employ traditional and proven technologies, using the Fourdrinier and cylinder mould machines. The distinguishing feature of Hahnemühle was and will be the ability to combine tradition with modern technologies. This way, paper is produced according to old recipes, passed from generation to generation, and it continues to meet the highest demands of present-day standards.
The papers and boards of Hahnemühle Traditional FineArt are characterized by supreme quality, are resistant to ageing, can be used for numerous applications, and are simply beautiful!

Inspirations
Architecture
In my work, I often refer to the tradition of Mediterranean architectural style. The Mediterranean Basin is the birthplace of many ancient civilizations, where diverse cultures and arts intertwined, from Roman and Greek to Persian and Islamic.<br /> This rich mosaic of architectural influences, from antiquity to Arab traditions, as well as references to ancient creative models, is an incredibly inspiring area for artists and architects, including myself. Architectural features, based on a rich cultural heritage and functionality, provide a fascinating creative stimulus for me. I have the privilege of admiring the beauty of ancient civilization architecture daily, which is rooted in contemporary architecture worldwide.
Human
Everyday life and humans are significant sources of inspiration for me because in their simplicity, routine, and repetitiveness, deeper meanings and uniqueness can be found. In everyday life, I can perceive both typicality and mediocrity, as well as diversity and fascinating aspects of life that often escape our attention. Representing everyday life in art is not limited to banal scenes or stereotypes. Instead, it can depict diverse experiences, emotions, and reflections that make up our everyday lives. Often overlooked, everyday life is the key to understanding human life and co-creating reality. Painting a picture of a person placed in everyday life allows me to see that each of us is part of the process of shaping the history of civilization and culture.
Nature
Nature is extremely important to me and is a motivating element of my work. Mediterranean vegetation, its exotic and subtropical diversity gives the coast a unique character. Especially cacti and succulents, but also palm trees and herbaceous plants that create unique arrangements. Fascinating are tree formations such as evergreen maquis, olive groves and vine and citrus crops creating picturesque panoramas. All this is perfectly integrated into the blue and azure of the Mediterranean Sea, which is not only a colorful background, but also symbolizes the power of nature and reflects the diversity of life. Thanks to these motifs, I draw inspiration and create images that I hope take the viewer to the unique and beautiful world of the Mediterranean Basin.
Abstractions
Abstractions it is a separate, autonomous reality, composed of systems of lines, forms, colors or solids. Abstract art has been present in various cultures over the centuries, including ancient civilizations, and has survived to this day. It is based on elements such as line, point, color and material, which constitute a self-sufficient language independent of the reproduction of recognizable objects. Abstract art has always been a vehicle for my creativity and has accompanied me for a long time. Now it is also present, although it remains invisible to the naked eye. It smolders somewhere hidden, ready to see the light of day again in the world around me.
