Rue d’Italie (Aix-en-Provence). Rue d’Italie can boast of being the oldest in the city (and one of the oldest urban streets in France). Indeed, it was the first access road created by extending the Via Aurelia, at the time of the creation of the colony of Aquae-Sextiae by the Roman consul Sextius Calvinus, in the 2nd century BC1.
