Description

Valensole. Southern France. Previously, in the 19th century, the plateau was mainly cultivated with almond and truffle oak fields. This economy disappeared and was replaced by lavender and cereal cultivation. The plateau is called the “granary of the region”. Lavender is the most famous crop on the plateau. It is used to make Marseille soap.
